The time - early Saturday.
The place - the local pool.
Or more precisely the cafe above.
While a son swims below - length after length.
Giving permission
To a dad needing space and time
To pencil, pen or tap on iPad
his precious lines.
Once a week - it's not nearly enough.
But in this protected hour and a half
The weekend begins.
And a novel grows just a little bit more.
